CMI’nov validates the transcatheter delivery of Mit’rep in vivo.

Monistrol sur Loire, March 10, 2020

Several tests conducted on live sheep between December 2019 and March 2020 at the Veterinary School of Marcy l’Etoile (France) demonstrated that Mit’rep can be introduced via transcatheter through the apex of a beating heart without any leak. Professor M. Vola, cardiac surgeon from the CHU of Lyon, and Dr. A. Bouali interventional cardiologist from the Hospital de la Croix Rousse of Lyon, worked as a team to place the device under the guide of intraesophageally echography. Said Prof. Vola: “This is an important milestone, which validates the approach developed by CMI’nov for the transapical delivery of a robust annuloplasty device that can be adjusted at will in real-time”.

Mit’rep is a new generation minimally invasive annuloplasty device for the treatment of functional mitral regurgitation. Nitinol anchors delivered transapically are used to position a braid along the mitral ring, which is then used to reduce the mitral valve diameter at will, in real-time under echography.
